Reflection:

2. Who are you praying for today? Who do you pray with?

Follow Up in the Word through the Week…

Monday:

Read: 1 Kings 19:1-18.

What threat does Elijah have on his life? How does this compare to Paul’s description in 2 Corinthians 1:8, 9? What does God do for Elijah in response to this despair he feels?

Tuesday:

Read: Zechariah 3:1-5.

Who is accusing the high priest Joshua in this vision that the prophet has? What does God do for Joshua and what does that accomplish for him as a result? What has Satan accused you of and how have you asked God to remove that “stain” from you?

Wednesday:

Read: Philippians 3:1-10.

What power does Paul rely upon in this life and in the next? Does the resurrection of Jesus have an impact on your life today?

Thursday:

Read: Romans 4:16-25.

According to verse 17 how is God described? Even before Jesus was resurrected God was known to be the one “who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist” (Romans 4:17 ESV).

Friday:

Read: 1 Thessalonians 4:13 and 14.

How does grief change with the truth of this passage? When reading the entire account in this chapter, how do your times of grief reflect the understanding that Paul wants us to have?

Saturday:

Read: 2 Corinthians 1:1-11.

How has this passage helped you to understand suffering and comfort differently? Are you praying with someone on a regular weekly basis?
